Hard work pays off. Last week I announced my book was
available for order, and this week I get to launch SpamMeltdown.com. This stuff
has been in the works for such a long time it is thrilling to see them finally
come to life.
SpamMeltdown.com officially launches today and as you might
have figured out already it follows the same formula as Design Meltdown but is
applied to HTML email designs. Over the years I have had numerous requests to
do a series such as this on Design Meltdown. I never did it for two reasons.
First my system of collecting sites didn’t jive with emails, and I was frankly
to lazy to do it by hand. Secondly, to really talk about the topic I couldn’t
see how dabbling in it would do any good. I believe this new site addresses both of these issues and provides a place to showcase and talk about email designs.
So, Spam Meltdown is here and will serve as a place to
showcase finely crafted HTML emails. As with DMD my focus will be on aesthetics
and not underlying code. I also don’t believe in launching empty blogs so I
have a back log of content to get things started, 20 articles and about 650
email samples.
I have a large flow of emails that I have been collecting
and I already have over 4,000 emails in my database. This means lots of content
will flow through here and hopefully serve as an inspiration source for all the
unsung HTML email designers out there.
